Biden raises ₹359 cr in 48 hrs as Indian-origin Harris named as US VP choice

US Democratic presidential contender Joe Biden has raised $48 million (over ₹359 crore) in the 48 hours since he named Indian-origin Kamala Harris as Democratic vice presidential nominee. Harris is the first Black and South Asian American woman to run on a major political party's presidential ticket. Her parents were immigrants, her mother from India and her father from Jamaica.
