Biggest-ever 2D map of universe released

The DESI Legacy Imaging Surveys team released the largest ever two-dimensional map of the sky, containing nearly four billion stars, galaxies and other objects. The 5.6-trillion-pixel map covers about 75% of the sky and was built from 2,63,407 telescope exposures. It is publicly viewable through the Legacy Survey Sky Viewer and will help researchers study dark matter and dark energy.
