Bihar govt to appoint 140 officers for domestic violence victims

Bihar government will appoint 140 "protection officers" to support women affected by domestic violence across the state more effectively. The decision has been taken amid a rise in cases of domestic violence in the state. The Social Welfare Department has decided to create a separate cadre under which sub-division, district and state-level protection officers will be appointed.
