Bihar Minister seeks renaming Bakhtiyarpur as ‘Nitishpur’; Chirag backs demand

Bihar Minister Santosh Suman demanded that Bakhtiyarpur town be renamed ‘Nitishpur’ after former Bihar CM Nitish Kumar. "Honouring the birthplace of such a mass leader...with his name...will be an act of respect for...the pride of that soil, its history...and...public sentiments connected to it,” Suman added. Union Minister Chirag Paswan backed Suman’s proposal, calling it “a good suggestion.”
