Bill Gates warns bad actors can use AI as a 'bioterrorism weapon'

In his annual letter 'Optimism with Footnotes', Microsoft Co-founder Bill Gates warned against use of AI by "bad actors". "Today, an even greater risk than a naturally caused (Covid-19) pandemic is that a non-government group will use…AI tools to design a bioterrorism weapon," Gates said. "We’ll need to be deliberate about how AI is developed, governed, and deployed," he added.
