Bill to raise daily work hours in shops from 9 to 10 hours cleared in Haryana

The Haryana Assembly on Monday passed a Bill that provides for increasing the daily working hours of employees in shops and private commercial establishments from nine hours to ten hours. However, the total weekly working hours remain capped at 48 hours. "The Bill aims to reduce the compliance burden on small establishments through reforms," State Labour Minister Anil Vij said.
