Bill to raise marriage age for women from 18 to 21 to lapse

A Bill to raise the minimum marriageable age of women to 21 from 18 was introduced in the Lok Sabha in 2021. Three years later, the Bill will lapse at the end of the current Lok Sabha session. The Bill titled Child Marriage (Amendment) Bill, 2021 was introduced in the legislative House by a 10-member task force.
