Biogas sector to see ₹5,000 crore in investments in 2026-27: IBA

India's biogas sector is expected to attract over ₹5,000 crore in investments in FY 2026-27, according to the Indian Biogas Association (IBA). This would be driven by strong investor interest, as more than 100 compressed biogas (CBG) plants have been commissioned to date. Government data shows that 94 plants sold over 31,400 tonnes of CBG in FY25, highlighting robust growth.
