Biologist Deepika Chowdhury is India's 1st female figure athlete

Until 2012, Deepika Chowdhury's life as a molecular biologist revolved around the laboratory. Knowing her childhood love for athletics, she decided to join a gym and work on her health. What started as a simple pursuit of fitness blossomed into a passion for bodybuilding. Soon she became the first Indian woman professional figure athlete and began competing on international stages.
