Bird flu in Jharkhand spreads to Bokaro after Ranchi outbreak
A month after a bird flu outbreak was reported in Jharkhand's Ranchi, it has spread to Bokaro, after which the administration culled 46 birds and destroyed 506 eggs. The outbreak was traced to a government poultry farm in Bokaro's Sector 12, where about 250 birds died. The H5N1 strain of avian influenza caused the outbreak, said an official.
