Birders disappointed as waterbird count dips on Yamuna

Bird watchers were disappointed this December as fewer waterbirds were seen along the Delhi stretch of the Yamuna. A recent field survey observed lower species diversity and smaller bird numbers than usually expected at this time of year. Observations made this month recorded only about 12 waterbird species, all in limited numbers.
