The birth rate in India declined by 0.2% in 2013, as compared to that of 2012, according to the latest official data. According to the Sample Registration System (SRS) survey, that is the largest demographic survey done in the country by the Registrar General of India, the lowest Crude Birth Rate (CBR) was recorded in Kerala and highest in Bihar.
