BitTorrent acquired by crypto startup Tron for $140 million

Peer-to-peer file sharing platform BitTorrent has been acquired by the cryptocurrency startup Tron's Founder Justin Sun for a reported sum of $140 million in cash. However, reports suggested that the shareholders are yet to sign off on the deal definitively. Founded in 2004, BitTorrent offers a platform to commercialise networking technology as a way to share and store files.
