BJP appoints Laxmikant Bajpai as chief whip of Rajya Sabha

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed former Uttar Pradesh BJP President Laxmikant Bajpai as the party's chief whip in the Rajya Sabha. "I will discharge this responsibility given by the party leadership with full devotion," Bajpai said on Twitter. Bajpai has replaced Shiv Pratap Shukla who retired as a Member of Parliament from the Rajya Sabha.
