BJP boosts women's representation, inducts 12 women into national team

Twelve women leaders have been inducted into BJP’s new national team, with Smriti Irani returning as national general secretary. Six of the 13 vice-presidents are women, including Vasundhara Raje Scindia, D Purandeshwari and Rekha Verma. Four women have been appointed national secretaries. The move comes ahead of the BJP-led government’s push to clear Women’s Reservation Bill in Parliament.
