BJP expels lawyer who slapped own party's MLA over 'indiscipline'

The BJP on Monday expelled lawyer Awadhesh Singh, who was caught on camera slapping BJP MLA Yogesh Verma in Lakhimpur, from the party for "indisciplined" behaviour. Singh's wife Puspha and BJP members Anil Yadav and Jyoti Shukla were also expelled, a BJP office bearer said. No FIR was lodged, even though three complaints from both parties were filed with police.
