BJP fields Shivaji Maharaj's descendant from Maharashtra's Satara

BJP on Tuesday announced Chhatrapati Udayanraje Bhonsle as its Lok Sabha candidate from Maharashtra's Satara constituency. Udayanraje is the 13th descendant of Maratha King Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He previously won the Satara seat thrice on NCP ticket. Udayanraje, who is presently a Rajya Sabha MP, will fight against Sharad Pawar-led NCP's candidate Shashikant Shinde in the elections.
