BJP leader Bhupen Kumar Borah wins from Assam's Bihpuria constituency

BJP's Bhupen Kumar Borah won from Bihpuria constituency in Assam Assembly polls, defeating Congress’ Narayan Bhuyan by 8,236 votes. Borah began his political career as president of Assam Youth Congress and was associated with the Congress for over 30 years before switching to the BJP in February 2026. Meanwhile, the BJP is leading in 97 of 126 seats in Assam.
