BJP leader Raj Purohit passes away days after son wins BMC ward

Senior BJP leader and former Maharashtra minister Raj K Purohit passed away at the age of 71 in a Mumbai hospital, ending his long political career as a five-time MLA. His son Akash Purohit had won the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Ward 221 election on Friday. Condolences poured in from party leaders, including BJP national general secretary Vinod Tawde.
