BJP MP Surya calls for sovereign AI after Anthropic blocks access

BJP MP Tejasvi Surya reacted to Anthropic's announcement that US national security rules forced disabling of access to its frontier AI models for all foreign nationals. "For a country of India's civilisational weight and geostrategic position…there is simply no alternative to building sovereign AI capability," he said. "This moment makes that clearer than any policy argument ever could," he added.
