BJP picks Paka Venkata Satyanarayana for AP Rajya Sabha seat

BJP has named SC leader Paka Venkata Satyanarayana as its candidate for Rajya Sabha by-election in Andhra Pradesh, due to take place on 9 May. The decision ends days of speculation over other high-profile names, including K Annamalai and Manda Krishna Madiga. The seat became vacant after former YSRCP leader Vijayasai Reddy resigned and was later ceded to BJP by TDP.
