BJP received ₹1,473 crore during last 5 state polls, over 7 times more than Congress

The BJP received nearly ₹1,473 crore at its central headquarters alone during last five state assembly elections, according to expenditure statements filed with Election Commission (EC). The amount is over seven times the ₹207 crore in net receipts reported by Congress across its central and state units. The BJP spent ₹160 crore on polls in Assam, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
