BJP releases 1st list for Assam Assembly polls, CM Himanta to contest from Jalukbari

BJP on Thursday released its first list of 88 candidates for the Assam Assembly elections to be held on April 9, fielding CM Himanta Biswa Sarma from the Jalukbari Assembly constituency. Former Congress leader Pradyut Bordoloi, who joined the BJP on Wednesday, has been fielded from Dispur, while another ex-Congress leader, Bhupen Kumar Borah, will contest the elections from Bihpuria.
