BJP-ruled Odisha, Chhattisgarh agree to work on Mahanadi dispute after Centre's push

BJP-ruled states Odisha and Chhattisgarh have agreed to work towards resolving the Mahanadi water dispute after the Centre pushed on a consensus-based solution. After a meeting chaired by Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Paatil, Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi said the dispute will be resolved before Diwali. Odisha alleged that Chhattisgarh constructed eight barrages affecting water flow into the state.
