BJP's Anurag Thakur's 'goli maaro' speech not an offence, says SC

The Supreme Court dismissed a plea seeking FIR against BJP leaders Anurag Thakur and Parvesh Verma over their "desh ke gaddaron ko, goli maaro..." and other controversial remarks during 2020 anti-CAA protests. The plea was filed by CPI(M) leader Brinda Karat. The court upheld that no cognisable offence was committed and that the speeches weren't directed against any specific community.
