BJP's Guruvayur candidate booked after his 'Hindu MLA' remarks

BJP leader B Gopalakrishnan, contesting from Kerala's Guruvayur constituency, has been booked for allegedly soliciting votes in the name of religion. Officials said the Model Code of Conduct was violated. During campaigning, he stated the constituency should have a Hindu MLA, questioning why Guruvayur hasn't had one in the last five decades, as it is internationally known as pilgrimage centre.
