BJP sweeps Gujarat local body polls, wins all 15 municipal corporations

BJP secured a sweeping victory in Gujarat local body elections 2026, winning all 15 municipal corporations in the state. It also emerged as the dominant force in rural local bodies, winning 568 of 1,090 district panchayat seats, while Congress secured 77 and others 30. Of the 5,234 taluka panchayat seats, BJP won 2,397, Congress secured 591 seats and others 329.
