BJP trails by 9,000+ votes in Datia bypoll after dropping Narottam Mishra

BJP's Ashutosh Tiwari is trailing by over 9,000 votes after nine rounds of counting in the Datia Assembly bypoll after the party dropped former MLA Narottam Mishra from the seat. Mishra represented Datia thrice between 2008 and 2023 before losing the 2023 election. Denial of his ticket had led to local demonstrations, including a 12-hour highway blockade, and police clashes.
