BJP wins 197 Raj urban local body posts, twice as many as Congress

The BJP has won mayor, chairperson and president posts in 197 of 301 urban local bodies, more than twice the Congress tally of 94. Independents won seven posts, while AAP, CPI(M) and RLP secured one each. Elections were held in 273 bodies on Monday, while heads of 32 bodies were elected unopposed. BJP also won 4,182 councillor wards.
