BJP wins in Indore for 9th straight time with highest-ever margin

BJP's Shankar Lalwani defeated Congress leader Pankaj Sanghvi in Indore by 5,47,754 votes, the biggest ever margin for the Madhya Pradesh Lok Sabha seat. Previously, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan won the seat eight times in a row from 1989-2014. The 76-year-old who won 2014 elections by a margin of 4.66 lakh votes, announced she wouldn't be contesting in 2019.
