BJP's CM candidate BS Yeddyurappa wins from Shikaripura

The BJP's Chief Ministerial candidate BS Yeddyurappa has won by a margin of over 35,000 votes from the Shikaripura seat in the Karnataka Assembly elections. He defeated Congress' candidate Goni Malatesha. Yeddyurappa had served as Karnataka Chief Minister between 2008 and 2011 and had quit BJP briefly to form his own party before rejoining the party.
