BJP's Madhu Azad becomes Gurugram's first woman Mayor

BJP candidate Madhu Azad on Friday became the first woman Mayor of Gurugram, after getting unanimously chosen by the councillors. The Deputy Mayor's post was bagged by a BJP candidate, while a Congress-backed independent candidate bagged the post of Senior Deputy Mayor. In the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram elections, BJP managed to get majority by gathering support from 12 councillors.
