Black drains are datamines of community health, shows a new study

New research from IISc and ICTS-TIFR shows that sewage monitoring acts as an accurate mirror of community health. Using areawise mapping technologies by linking specific neighbourhoods to treatment plants, they have achieved mapping 14 million people's waste easily. They show that disease can be tracked at a granular level.
