Blast in Assam's Jorhat ahead of Assembly elections, 2 killed

A blast in a residential colony in Assam’s Jorhat district left two people dead and several others injured on Saturday, ahead of the April 9 Assembly elections. Noor Mohammad died on the spot, while an eight-year-old boy, Mohammad Iqbal, succumbed to injuries during treatment. Locals said the explosion was massive, though the exact cause is still unknown.
