Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will impose a 10% water cut across Mumbai from May 15 amid depleting lake levels and forecasts of a below-average monsoon due to El Nino conditions, an official said. Water reserves in the seven lakes supplying Mumbai dropped to 23.52% of their total capacity, the official added. Water cut will also affect Thane, Bhiwandi and Nizampur.
