BMC gives 858 tonnes of shadu clay, free workspaces to idol makers
To promote an environmentally friendly Ganeshotsav, the BMC has distributed 858 tonnes of shadu clay to 477 idol makers, surpassing previous years' records. The BMC is also offering free temporary workspaces and eco-friendly paint for the idols. Naresh Dahibavkar of BSGSS stated that clay is heavier than POP and less suitable for larger idols.
