BMC inaugurates first underground garbage bins in Mumbai

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Friday inaugurated the first underground garbage bins in Mumbai. Costing ₹8 lakh each, the bins have separate provisions for wet and dry waste. The underground garbage bins will be emptied on a daily basis using a hydraulic jack connected to the garbage truck, a BMC official said.
