BMC suspends 4 officials after man dies falling into open manhole

The BMC suspended four officials after a 55-year-old man, Aslam Isak Shaikh, died after falling into an open manhole during drain maintenance work in Mumbai's Sakinaka area. The civic body also announced financial assistance of ₹10 lakh for the deceased's family. Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar directed the state government to take action beyond suspensions.
