BMC to develop urban forest in Mumbai's Marol industrial estate

The BMC is planning to convert a three-acre plot in Andheri's Marol industrial estate into an urban forest. The area was selected after the Mumbai Climate Action Plan indicated a rise in land surface temperatures there over the past decade. The forest will increase vegetation cover, lower mean land surface temperature and develop accessible public open space, the BMC said.
