BMC to transfer duty of levying parking fines to Mumbai Traffic Police

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation is set to transfer the responsibility of levying fines for vehicles parked within 1km of its Public Parking Lots, to Mumbai Traffic Police. BMC had earlier stated they don't have enough manpower to handle illegally parked vehicles. The transfer of duty to MTP will likely happen in 10 days, Deputy Chief Engineer (Transport Wing) Sunil Sardar said.
