Both Shiv Senas in direct contest on 49 seats in Maha elections

Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena (UBT), are contesting against each other on at least 49 seats in the Maharashtra elections. Nineteen of these constituencies are in Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). MMR will see the most prominent fights, including the high-profile battle in Kopri-Pachpakhadi, where Shinde will face his late political mentor Anand Dighe's nephew Kedar.
