Boxer Vijender Singh joins BJP after quitting Congress

India's first Olympic medallist in boxing, Vijender Singh, joined the BJP at the party headquarters in Delhi after quitting Congress ahead of Lok Sabha elections. He had joined Congress in 2019 and unsuccessfully contested the Lok Sabha elections that year from the South Delhi constituency. He had lost the election to Ramesh Bidhuri.
