Boy Dies Battling Eating Disorder, Severe Malnourishment

A 7-year-old boy collapsed and died after battling an eating disorder, which left him severely malnourished. Alfie Anthony Nicholls had autism and was non-verbal. Doctors said Alfie's condition caused a cardiac arrest, which manifested in his eating habits and led to a restrictive diet. Alfie's mother Lucy Morrison says problems with his diet were not initially picked up by doctors.
