Boy uses b'day savings to build water treatment plant in UP

Dubai-based 18-year-old Vehaan Subramanian has built a solar-powered water treatment plant in UP's Parsiya village by funding half of the project using his birthday savings. The plant can treat 2,000 litres of groundwater every hour, benefiting more than 3,000 people across 1,000 families. Lab tests also found arsenic levels dropping from 0.026 mg/litre to below 0.005 mg/litre after filtration.
