Boys in consensual relationships often bear brunt of POCSO: Madras HC

Madras High Court said that in cases involving consensual relationships between adolescents, it is often the “young boy who ends up facing criminal consequences”. The court said this as it set aside a man’s conviction under the POCSO Act. Under parental pressure, the girl may marry another person, after which criminal proceedings are initiated against the boy, the court said.
