BR Ambedkar was probably India's first male feminist: Shashi Tharoor

BR Ambedkar was probably India's first male feminist, said writer and Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Saturday. He added that between 1920s-1940s, Ambedkar made speeches, including in front of a female audience, which today would be considered as progressive for male politicians. Tharoor further said that Ambedkar urged women to delay marriage and stand up to their husbands as equals.
