Brain stents keep the blood flowing in the brain, placed into narrow places within a blood vessel to prop it open and help maintain blood flow. These stents, known as intracranial stenting, are completely safe and are most useful in preventing further debilitating stroke conditions, according to experts. Ischemic stroke is the third leading cause of death.
