Brazil score in 96th minute, beat Japan 2-1 to reach FIFA World Cup Round of 16

Brazil defeated Japan 2-1 in their FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 32 match to reach the Round of 16. Japan midfielder Kaishū Sano opened scoring in the 29th minute, before Casemiro equalised in the 56th. Gabriel Martinelli scored Brazil's winner in the 96th minute. Japan have been eliminated from World Cup in first knockout round for third straight edition.
