Brazil suspends beef exports to China after mad cow disease case

Brazil has suspended beef exports to China after a case of mad cow disease was confirmed in the northern state of Para, the country's agriculture and livestock ministry said. The suspension is expected to be temporary. Mad cow disease, formally called bovine spongiform encephalopathy, is a brain disorder in adult cattle that may be spread to humans through diseased meat.
