Brazilian defender banned up to 6 months after leg break tackle

Victor Gabriel, defender for Brazilian club Internacional, has been handed unprecedented ban by Brazil's sports court after his tackle fractured Cruzeiro forward Gabriel Pec's leg during a Serie A match. Gabriel will be sidelined until Pec is medically cleared to return to training, with the suspension capped at maximum of six months. Gabriel had received red card for the foul.
